To say that the HOLIDAY BAZAAR was a success is an understatement. Although the financial results are still being finalized, total revenues will exceed $43,000, about $7,400 more than last year.
So many factors contributed to this success. The combination of very hard work by the Grandma's Attic committee (many worked almost all year to clean, prepare, and display merchandise) and parishioner donations of so many items, many high valued, resulted in substantial revenue increase over 2006.
The generosity of local merchants, members of the parish and others provided attendees with a great selection of products and services for the silent auction. All of the raffles - the Big Money, Split the Pot, the quilt, lobster, rocking horse, bottle and scooter raffles, the Odd Gift Wheel, the Dime Toss, and the Game Room - were successful.
The various food and crafts booths reflected the hard work of their respective committees, again preparing for many months, as well as the generous gifts and skills of many parishioners. Boyds Bears were popular, as was the Library. The excellent food and varied menu from the kitchen was highly in demand throughout both days. And the popcorn stand also did very well.
Attendance was excellent, a reflection on the well-established tradition of the Bazaar, the great weather, and the highly effective promotion campaign.
The contributions of so many parishioners, in so many ways, was simply awesome. Many new faces were evident on the committees and in the venues, selling chances, or otherwise making a contribution. This is so essential to the continuing success of the Bazaar.
So, thank you ever so much to everyone who had a part in this success. What a wonderful display of the kind of parish family Ste. Anne's really is!!
