Bereavement Ministry

We are beginning a new ministry here at St. Anne's. Our new parishioner, Michael Williams, has been trained in this ministry and will welcome anyone interested in joining this team.

Members of this ministry will meet with families to choose Mass readings, hymns and prayer intentions for the Mass of Resurrection, and may also attend the wake service. Team members also pray for the deceased or our parish and their families. Please contact Michael Williams for more information at (847) 858-3037.

Concern

Pastoral Visitors bring Communion to parish members who are house-bound. This ministry lets them know that they are still part of the spiritual life of the church. Hospital Visitors visit the hospital during the week assuring patients that they are in our prayers, as well as just "listening" to them. Bereavement offers comfort and condolences to families in the loss of their loved one. We may represent the parish at the wake or funeral Mass and assist in the use of the Family Room after the services at the cemetery. People are helped to feel that through their faith in God and the love of the family and friends they are not forgotten in their time of sorrow.
