The Code of Ministerial Behavior, published in 2003, contains the standards of personal and professional behavior for pastoral situations involving children, youth, and adults.
The Code contains information under the following headings: Conduct with Children and Youth, Sexual Conduct, Harassment, Conduct for Pastoral Counselors and Spiritual Directors, Confidentiality, Conflicts of Interest, Reporting Ethical or Professional Misconduct, Administration, and Staff/Volunteer Well-being. The Code is to be provided to all clergy, employees and volunteers entering ministry or employment within the schools and parishes. The Code also contains a Statement of Agreement that is signed by the recipient to acknowledge agreement with the standards of conduct it describes. Copies of the Code of Ministerial Behavior are available at the parish office. For your convenience, the Code is also posted and is in a printable (pdf) format on the Archdiocesan website (www.rcab.org).
